$1,000 ACU Scholarship

Advantage Credit Union will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship for the 2018-2019 school year. The scholarship is available to any high school senior who is a member of Advantage Credit Union in good standing, attending a four year college or university, community college or tech/trade school, for the 2018-2019 school year.

Entrants are required to submit a business style resume’ not to exceed two pages in length, and answer the following essay question:

Credit unions are not-for-profit, financial institutions that utilize the cooperative model. The “people helping people” philosophy is the guiding principle to serve their members’ financial needs. Please explain what a cooperative is and why the “people helping people” philosophy is important. How does your membership in a credit union support your financial future?

This essay question is the same one used by the Iowa Credit Union Foundation Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship.

Essays should be no more than 500 words.

Entries must be received at our office 121 W 3rd St N, Newton, Iowa no later than March 30, 2018.
