Essay Contest Submissions Due March 20th

Advantage Credit Union Scholarship

Advantage Credit Union has three scholarships for 2026 graduates. One $2000, one $1000. and one $750 scholarship will be awarded. Open to any high school senior who is a member of ACU and plans on attending a two-year, four-year or technical school in the fall semester. Deadline is Friday, March 20th.

Eligibility Requirements: Must be a graduating high school senior entering a two-year or four-year college or trade school in 2026-2027 school year. Must be a member in good standing of Advantage Credit Union for at least 6 months prior to application deadline.

Application Process: Applicants must submit a business style resume' not to exceed two pages in length and answer the following essay question in 500 words or less:

Credit unions are financial cooperatives driven by the principle of ‘People Helping People.’ Share a story about a time when collaboration or teamwork helped you, your family, or your community achieve a goal. How does this cooperative spirit influence your view of financial success? How can your credit union help?

Submissions: Deadline for submissions is Friday, March 20th. Submissions will be accepted in person at the credit union or via mail if postmarked by Friday, March 20th. Mailed applications should be sent to: ACU Scholarship Contest, PO Box 822, Newton, IA 50208
