DIRECTOR NOMINEES:
Craig Armstrong
Craig has been a member of Advantage Credit Union for 9 years. He is employed with the City of Newton as the Economic Development Specialist. A native Oregonian, Craig successfully promoted and operated the Portland Speedway, a NASCAR sanctioned track. In 2006, Armstrong was recruited to be the Vice President and General Manager of the Iowa Speedway. A 2018 graduate of the Heartland Economic Development Course, he chaired the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority (CIRHA) for six years and currently serves on the housing authority’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Craig is also the Site Leader for the Lutheran Church of Hope, Local Newton. Craig is a strong supporter of credit unions, ACU in particular. The concept of a not-for-profit financial institution dedicated to encouraging financial wellness and making loans available to working class men and women is something he is very interested in learning more about and supporting as a prospective board member.
Michelle Doland
Michelle has been a member of Advantage Credit Union since the late 1990’s. She is employed by the USPS as a rural carrier and also employed by the Newton Community School District as a bus driver. She has a BA degree in business from William Penn and has served in a variety of capacities over the years through her daughters civic organizations. She enjoys running and has competed in the Des Moines half marathon as well as the Dam to DSM race and the Living History Farms race. Michelle would like to join the ACU board based on her experiences in the credit union over the years. Positive interactions with staff have inspired her to learn more about the banking industry and inner workings of the credit union industry.
Chris Farver
Chris has been a member of Advantage Credit Union for over 15 years. He is currently employed as a groundskeeper for the City of Newton. In addition to being a groundskeeper, Chris ran a successful handyman business. He and his wife Brooke have been married for 15 years. He has adult children, a daughter named Jordyn and a son named Camden. He enjoys golfing, camping and hanging out with his dog, Lynden. He would like to join the board of Advantage Credit Union because he’s interested in the “behind the scenes” of the credit union.
